As well as the core services Amcare provides for our customers, such as prescription procurement and delivering healthcare supplies, we are pleased to be able to offer some more specialist services to customers who have specific needs.

Complimentary accessories
We provide a range of complimentary support accessories that have been developed for people who use stoma appliances. These accessories include products such as wet wipes, dry wipes, hand mirrors and scented disposal bags.
Sample service
We supply products from all manufacturers so if you are interested in trying something new within the stoma care product range, simply give us a call and we will forward samples personalised to your stoma size.
Product updates
Our customers tell us that they like to keep up to date with all the latest products and services. We will keep in touch with you and write to let you know about the latest ConvaTec products available, and you can request samples if there is anything you want to try.
Girdle fitting service
Many people find that their tummy can need additional support after the operation and a girdle can help with this by giving added comfort to your abdomen. Contact your local care centre for more information about the range available for men and women.
Nurse team*
While you should always consult your own doctor or stoma care nurse if you have any concerns, we do provide a stoma care nurse facility. Our nurses can offer help and advice on a wide range of stoma-related topics, such as counselling before surgery, education in stoma management and unbiased information on all suitable appliances after the operation. If you ever have a concern or question, please don’t hesitate to call us; our nurses will be able to help put your mind at rest.
The Amcare care centre team can also provide helpful information on our comprehensive range of services. In addition, the team is available to answer all your queries – from where to get hold of specific supplies, to details about our next patient open day.

Appliance Use Reviews (AURs)
As a Dispensing Appliance Contractor, we offer a voluntary stoma appliance review to all customers. These reviews are held with a qualified stoma care nurse employed by Amcare; they will ensure you are receiving the correct type and quantity of products to meet your needs.
This review is held once a year and will usually take place in your own home, although it can also be carried out at a local pharmacy or Amcare care centre in a private consultation room. It gives you the opportunity to ask the nurse specific questions and receive informed advice and support about your stoma and appliances.
